OK - Thanks! What is the effect that you achieved? Flatter response? More extension?

On a different topic, I found a pretty cool post by an audio engineer on digital sampling rates:

More bass presence below 120Hz with much better extension without being flabby, plus less upper treble bite. They're still fairly bright, but with this it doesn't feel like there's an icepick in your ears sometimes. It's a worthwhile mod, especially given how little time it takes, and it's reversible. :)

I know the shop that serviced this 928 S4, they're a good garage, and it looks like one of the finest you'll ever see that isn't priced like a family heirloom. They'll probably take even less for it, if you sweet talk them. Someone else get this and remove the temptation, we're running out of room.

928??? No matter how you slice it it's still a Pacer in drag.

Im not into the 928 much to be honest. I've always wanted Porsche to focus on the 911 instead of building front engine GT cars. Given the choice, I'd take a 964 911 over a 928 in a heartbeat.

and you'll pay a lot more than $18k for one too, particularly if it's anywhere close to well sorted. Air-cooled 911s have skyrocketed in value and show no signs of slowing down.

Did a Porsche salesman burn down your village when you were young? :p

I wasn't aware that a stock Pacer could run 0-60 mph in 5 seconds, color me surprised. The 928, particularly if it's a later model, is a solid enthusiast/collector car that's already rebounding in value, and apart from that is a damned fun car to drive too.

I love those 928's.................always wanted a 911 but for $18K that would be ideal with a 5 speed.

Quite the contrary. My father delivered the aircraft that bombed Stuttgart to rubble. You'd think I'd have some sympathy for the poor carmaker in the 'burbs:)

But I don't. Every time they tried to move away from a rear engined car they made a mess of it. Couple that with the 28 being produced in an era where the labour problems in Germany made English quality look good (There was actually a time then when the German auto press rated the Jag as more reliable than the Benz

) and you get a horrendously styled V8 unterauto that at best is a consolation prize for wannabe 911 owners and at worst a shopping car for the wife..

I have always had a love-hate relationship with the 928. I always liked the nose, the cockpit, the engine and the overall performance. But then there is that @ss...

When I saw that, I thought for a moment that you might've been referring to Evo when you said you had written something about the Speciale, before I remembered that it's a British 'zine.

Factoring in value, the Fiesta ST almost makes me want to revise my CotY choice. Almost. Damn, that's a stupid amount of fun for the money, just crazy.

I'm going to be getting my 80's on tonight - I'm going to a Chrissie Hynde concert. I'm not sure if I like her solo stuff, but she has to play some Pretenders too, right??

Kinda saw that coming. And IMO that car does deserve to be the winner. What I don't understand, however, is how they didn't like the M3. Chris Harris and Carlos Lago say thats its brilliant, along with many other journalists.

I found that EVO's car of the year selections are much better than MotorTrend. Those guys chose the Z28 as driver car of the year. Nothing against Camaros (i love Camaros myself), but i wouldn't take it over a 911 or a Jaguar F-Type, or even the Nismo GTR as a drivers car.
