Hello Head-Fi, I just purchased a pair of DT880 600ohms and I had thought that my vintage receiver would power them fine, but the audio sounds a bit muddy, it doesn't sound very clear or not what I expect from $300 headphones. I use a Behringer UCA202 ($25 DAC), which I think will work just fine but I can't find a decent amp that will go well with the DT880s for $150, I've searched the forums and found that many people suggest the Maverick A1 / Little dot MKV iii but they are out of my price range. So does anyone have any suggestions? The receiver I'm using is a Realistic STA-77. I am not sure of the specs but they made my HD598 also sound muddy, (My reason for selling them, hoping that 600ohm would somehow fix that)

Thank you.

You can get single tube headphone amplifiers for $75-$130, off eBay, ships from China, takes ten days.
My Muse EH 6922 ($75) single tube headphone amplifier drives my AKG K240M Monitor 600-Ohm headphones just fine.

The O2 amp will do fine.

I was interested in the Indeed G3 Chinese tube amp for around $125, I didn't see any information on Head-fi about it so I didn't consider it. Know anything about it?

I had the G2 version, but I tossed it around to much, was able to salvage the EH 6922 tube.
Website forum Rockgrotto has some threads on these amps.
The G3 version costs more because it's also a pre-amp.
I think like 10 sellers over in China sell these style of amps.
Indeed seem to do the most updating of the design.
