I recently bought a used T1 and am trying to pair it with a dac and amp or dac/amp combo at about $500-600.  What would be some good choices at this range?  Ive been reading about the matrix mini-i, nuforce hdp, and also how the valhalla pairs well with the t1.  Anyone have any recommendations?

No need to spend more on an amp. The T1 is actually relatively easy to drive, despite its impedance. Easier than the HD600 through HD800 anyway.

The Yulong D100 is a great option in this price range, and should power the T1 with ease if these specs are true.

Thanks!  I am leaning towards getting the valhalla and a standalone dac.  Wonder when the bifrost reviews will start coming out.  The combo will put me over budget though.

You could go with the NFB-10SE from Audio-GD. It's a slightly toned down ROC amp with a built in DAC and it has the right amount of power. If it's anything like the ROC that I own then you're in good hands
