Haha I remembered when I used to get people's old headphones and solder them to fix them.
Put some iPhone earbuds onto another wire and all sorts of splicing.
 
I haven't gone as deep as you guys have, my best piece of gear is Sennheiser HD 555 haha.

Nice, i have never done any diy stuff. my best full sized headphone is my Sony z1000. I'm buying a fostex hpp1 with moon audio silver dragon line out cable to go with my iPod classic. Can't wait to hear this combo!

I ended up not charging my friend but I was curious why he switched to some skullcandy now. Turns out that there was wear and tear and the left driver on the hf5 stopped working. Rip etymotic research hf5, my first decent gear :frowning2:
