I recently purchased the SR80 and they sound okay but I always see reviews of how awesome it really is. I just don't hear it. I get my music from amazon and I use my ipod mano 5th gen with fiio e6. Does anybody have some tips?

Maybe they are just not your type of headphone.

What kind of music do you listen to? Which headphones are you comparing it to?

What headphones were you listening to before?

My first guess is that you don't like the Grado house sound.  A good number of folks don't.  If you don't like bright or if you are a bass head of any stripe--Grado will probably not be for you.

My second (non-exclusive) guess is that the compressed sound files you buy are not that great.  Try listening to a quality recording on CD using a decent portable CD player or better.
