I had problems with rattling sound from the right side of my DT 990 and I solved the problem!
 
So I think I have the problem solved for you that have problems whit rattling sounds.
 
Here is what I did!
 
I opened the cans and detected a hair on the cone, be careful and dont touch the cone,I did and I dent it, but you can carefully put it back with a gentle suck with a straw.
 
Remove the hair and the rattle is gone!
 
You have to look very carefully and close to detect the hair.
 
Now my DT 990 works perfectly.

Thanks for the tip! Good thing I always keep a shaved head so I encounter no such issues with my Beyer DT 150.
