Aliexpress Cables

So I decided to try one of my two ESD mats https://www.aliexpress.us/item/2255800802056793.html under my laptop, monitor and cables today. The difference is monumental. I was trying to counterbalance a bit of thin-ness due to a few other system changes, and boy let me tell you! It did all that and more!!! The bass has a purity and heft I may have never experienced before, the highs manage to be even more detailed without being bright, soundstage is overall better. ABsolutely no joke: my heart actually skipped a beat when I heard it at first, and it's like I'm listening to every song for the first time. This combined with countless dozens of other tweaks has taken my system to a very spiritual groove, and I can't help but start to dancing all the time! :L3000: :L3000::darthsmile:

Interestingly I had already thought I reached a plateau of performance with the other ESD mat which still rests under my power conditioner, then realizing how these mats sucked the life out of the sound under my desktop rig (amp, DDC, etc.) I just shelved the other one. But I am very lucky I happened to try the other one under my computer. Do note these work best with all associated cabling resting on top of it as well, and for me I put the aligator clamp around a spare bit of silver faraday tape I have around my HDMI cable which certainly didn't hurt the sound. I also placed 50 duro sorbothane sheet cutouts under all 4 corners of my laptop for an even more refined sound.

Incoming today was my Monosaudio P902 99.998% OFC Copper AC cable as recommended from the Audio&Video Cable Store.
https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256802405474903.html

It's a very solid robust cable, thick and pleasing to the eye. IMO it's a solid pearl of a performer, outclassing my (authentic-knockoff) Odin Gold AC cable. Instantly there was something I liked even better about the sound, akin to an even blacker background with even more proper bass and natural character to the treble :). The Odin Gold is now shelved, thanks to this affordable monster of sound, and I think the edge it gives may be related to improved shielding, vs. a sort of wonky / fake shielding of the former.

Although exceptional bass and mids right off the bat, the treble was a bit hot at first, but for me that was evened out with a half width (1") of Silver Faraday Fabric Tape wrapped around the base of the socket only on the power source side, and closest to the power source itself. I tried full and partial wraps of the silver tape on both sides, and just that 1" was my favorite. I also tried blue-tack dots on both sides but that was not preferred. So far I've only tried this into my DDC which is also via a Flux-50 inline power filter after it, but for now ain't movin' this, just let it burn in.

Wonderful to hear! Echos my experience, and I'd also put it down to shielding and/or the quality of the solid conductors. In a different class. Enjoy.

My XSSH footers arrived today. Med size, alloy body with ceramic bearings. Equivalent to Cerabase Compact though the difference is that is stainless steel.

Reading on the Infinite Elemente product pages all their Cerabase footers are stated to perform best with >20kg loads. I can confirm that the same holds true with the XSSH footers under my amp at least. I estimate my LFD weighs 6-8kg, so the 15k-20g of weights I added progressively would have taken it past the 20kg mark.

As I added weight in 2.5 or 5kg increments there were progressive if not perfectly linear improvements. From the first 5kg bass tightened up and got more weighty while transient leading edges generally got cleaner and more impactful. Timbre of stringed instruments improved. Greater focus and purity of tone to vocals.

In shot I have 15kg of weights. I added a further 5kg of small dumbells which improved it further still... no sign of diminishing returns yet, but I switched them over to my DAC where their effect was more marked.

To be continued... (with SS footers, more weights and other components)

I wish I had caught you before you purchased these, they’re among the worst banana plugs I’ve owned to date, the tension spring deforms after one use | as well as the screw screws becoming stripped if looked at sideways, the Viborg makes are much more solidly built.

I wrote about said quality issues here:

https://db.audioasylum.com/mhtml/m....gi/search.mpl?forum=ALL&searchtext=njoe''

Another article I’ve added of late as it relates to several of the Xangsane products:

https://www.audioasylum.com/audio/cables/messages/18/183983.html

And while these cables use sterling silver wiring……., all I can say in all honesty they forced me to shelve all of the NEARdost cables within 2 tracks, and having owned cables between $500-$2.750 | stops in between at $945-$1.200, this is for “ me “ where my quest ends.

Very interesting. Can you provide a link to that power cable? Or a model # etc? Thanks.

Did the fuse come from the same seller or do you have a link?
