Alessandro MS-1 vs Grado SR-80

SR80's are pretty bassy I find, but they have quite a lot of highs (more than bass), and lack abit of midrange. Makes them terrible for movies and games but for music I really like them, even for rap/hip hop although they shine in rock. and the DT770 are too good in rap to consider wearing the grados...

As soon as I put a film on the HD595 or DT770 come on. (DT's come on when it's noisy outside)

SR-80 is for rock than MS-1

SR-80 is too much bass than MS-1

and it sound is aggressive

but MS-1 is neutral and sweet

I like MS-1+Bowl pads

You should Try it ~

MS-1s are great for metal, I had the hd414 reversed with the quarter mod. I like the hd414s more than the stock pads and the quarter mod really boosts clarity, but it raises the high end a little too much for my taste.

The differences between the SR80 and SR60 is the SR80 has bowls, and uses 4 wires(? on amount). Driver the same? I dunno...consensus is that it's the same...

Ok ******* it, now i cant decide again. Before i was settled on the ms-1. But I want the impact of the sr-80 for gaming, but not the highs. So the ms-1 would probibly better suit my musical taste (Rock, Folk, Indie stuff)

Guess I'll just get whichever is easiest and if i don't like sell it and get the other.

I went for the MS-1s because they are supposed to be better balanced than the SR-60/80. I found the MS-1 to be fatiguing, but it seems that many people don't. For over a year the MS-1 was my primary (well, only) headphone and I liked it. I still listen to them occasionally.
