AKG's New Flagship IEM - N5005

Hi friends

It was released some time ago, but is the N5005 still competitive against some modern day midFI IEMs?

And how is the timbral accuracy on this set? Seen some consumer reviews that the timbre is not the best.

Thanks in advance for any input!
I got one for 199 lol. Well I just can't say anything bad considering that price. For timbre that depends since not everyone likes the "Harman sound", but to me it's a little dry and harsh.

Very late to the party just got the AKG n5005 and I'm completely blown away by this tiny iem with the right tips it has superb bass and brilliant clarity without sacrificing musicality.

I’ve been listening to mine for a little over a year and I still feel this way.
I agree, but unfortunately I never found ear tips that would work The SpinFit models made from medical grade silicone (there are only three) came closest, no itching; but gradually fell out of position, greatly reducing bass response. They sounded great, but....
I've had this issue with any iem I've tried. Back to over the ear headphones.

The pictures on the box and stock photos online gave me the impression that these were going to be large, when I opened the box I was surprised by how miniature they were. They fit smaller ears, but after a few hours they still lead to a little bit of pressure I think due to their football shape, and I have to break from them.

Also got it for 199. I am a Harman sound fan. But I still found these very dry and harsh. Something in the midrange feels very thin and recessed. It has a pretty hard hitting clean bass, then all of a sudden very thin/dry/harsh mids and then dry/harsh treble. They do not sound musical to me at all.

I bought these years ago at the discounted price of $699. Thought they were good then, for the price I paid, but not at the retail price of what $999, I think.
At $199, even years later, they are a no brainer, grab them before they are gone.

Have you tried it with the filters?

While I do not mean to disparage, I wonder if the somewhat vexing fitment aspects of this IEM lead to much of this type of impression. Assuming the buds are properly and fully set into and secured within the ear, this type of problematic sound profile does not seem like a particularly likely possibility. The frequency graphs further suggest an anomaly of some sort (defective unit, improper fit).
