Curious...
These cans use that twist-locking mechanism to secure the earpads... they're also ~$80 a pair.  The cans have a pronounced "rim" around their perimeter.  I see a lot of headphones with earpads that you stretch over the rim to secure them, like the K240 series.  Has anyone tried alternate earpads on the 70x cans, maybe the stretch-on types?

Frank at AKG quoted me $14.68 a pad for the K702 a couple of weeks ago, if that's any help to you! The K601 pads will also work, but I don't know how they'll sound or how much they cost.
