I absolutely love my n30 they are my go to for sure , I've never tried any totl iems but many in the 6-800 dollar range and honestly for me they best them , westone w60 , Sennheiser 846 ..., I cannot convey how good these are bass is perfect , mids are crystal clear and detail in the highs is ridiculously good ,best I've heard honestly , I've been considering getting the 40s just because if there supposed to be better than the 30s 8f true then they would be one of the all-time greats , now granted I've never heard any of the .Campfire audio or 64 audio or any other real botique brands but out of the big boys these are insane

The 2nd picture on this Amazon link shows that it is different from the connector for the n40. Also, some of the reviews I’ve read talk about buying replacement cables only for them to be too long/not fit. Now I may be reading this information wrong, or misunderstood What I read. However, I would hate to buy an iem only to be screwed if the cable/connection were to fail sometime down the road and not be able to find an easy/cheap replacement.

One is recessed another is not. But connector seemed to be mmcx on both. Housing is different slightly. Let them come, I'll be able to tell you if I can use other aftermarket cable. I have some in my collection.

I have the AKG N30 too and had modified a Shure SE425 cable to fit /use with the N30. I am rather handy and also a diy person. Situation exists that I have the following items available: Spare mmcx cable, heat shrinkable tubings and the necessary tools (Xacto pen knives). So I cut the ends of the mmcx connectors and made the fit the recessed plugs on the N30. They fit well, as tight as on the original cable. Plays as well as before, I love them and they are my go to iems.

Hello good person, finally another N30 owner. Can you tell me an impression of it? A comparison with the SE425 also, may be? I have purchased it, will get in hand by late September. But nowhere I could find a proper review of it, was a blind purchase because of the discount.

The Shure SE425 is very accurate but its lack of bass is a known weakness. The AKG N30 has a lot more bass than the Shure SE425. I have just installed the "bass tips". The bass is slightly stronger with the change. The sound is not bass heavy but compared to the SE425, which is very critical, it is fuller (more complete?). I use the Shure with its bluetooth cable BT-2 used with my phone. The AKG N30 is used with the xDuoo XD-05, low gain setting and connected to the xDuoo X10Tii (turntable) using optical input. The bottom line is: the AKG N30 is a pretty good IEM. Testing tracks include I feel Love (Donna Summers), iBasso Test Disc (men's bass vocal singer Zhao Phang), One Moment In time (Dana Winner) and No Wicked Grin (John Hiatt) just to name a few. I don't write reviews of my "audio" equipment. I just used the to listen to music, it's a feeling. My apology if I don't make much sense.
