The HD800 has always sounded synthetic to me. Very good in many technical areas but non-engaging. I'm hoping the AKG sounds nothing like the lifeless HD800.

It's too expensive.Too bad companies don't offer improved models to their classics like sennheiser hd600/650,akg k701 etc at a same price.

There's no way they will sound like the K1000...and i doubt they will sound as good as the HD800...
