Hello, I don't know how to do it with the K812 (did the K712 myself, but K812 is probably different inside???). Maybe you can try to ask Matt from Forza Audioworks > matthew@forzaaudioworks.com
Than you will profit from a very nice Forza Audioworks cable as a bonus!

Kind greetings

If you try, please let us know the outcome!

Thanks! I will contact Matt
:beerchug:

And, did you contact Matt (Forza Audioworks)?
Can he help you with making your K812 balanced?

Yes. I contacted him some days ago but no answer yet..

Give it some time!

Forza Audioworks is a small company. It is known that sometimes it can take time before you get an answer (In my experience no more than a couple of days)!

I am curious if Matt can do the modification!

Hello everyone, I am planning to buy a K812, now I have a Bel Canto DAC and a Musical Fidelity MX HPA balanced amplifier as well as Beyers T90 headphones. Will there be a big update after buying the K812? At the moment my amplifier does not match with the Beyer T90, the sound is bright, so I use it directly from the DAC, where the sound is very neutral but lacks drive and fullness. In terms of musicality and stage width, will the K812 be better? Thank you, I know that perhaps few people have listened to the T90, who have the T1 as interesting opinion.

I have received an answer from Matt just yesterday and no...he never did that mod and told me currently he doesn’t offer any headphone mod cause he is very busy with all cable orders.

I bought a new K812 and I want to share a comparison with my Beyer T90 which I have for a long time. The headphones are not warmed up, my ears are not used to the new AKG yet, so my opinion may change after a month. The test was compared on a DAC and a balanced amplifier in which you can simultaneously listen to 2 pairs. The review was done with the help of a translator, so please consider) Convenience is on an equal footing, the T90 is better, but the AKG has better ear cushions, the ears do not touch anything. I was surprised that the K812 plays 36 ohms quieter than the T90 250 ohms. I checked it on the phone, DAC and amplifier, the T90 is louder, so when I compared I changed the volume. The resolution is much higher with the K812, the music is more precise or peeled. More higher quality in one word. Stage - I thought the T90 had a wide stage. But in AKG it is 2 times more. The depth is the same, but everything sounds farther from the head and there are more micro-details. There is a lot of air on two headphones, the same. But the distance between the instruments is much greater on the 812s. The bass is the same, I listen to most of the ambient, tribial, house, indie. The middle and here the 812s are losing (after a couple of hours out of the box). They are distant and not involving, more recessed. I seem to be watching music and not listening. There is no emotion and no dancing. High everything is complicated here. Beyers are recognized as very bright headphones. And they are rather bright from my amplifier. But they play in a funny and musical way. High voiced but no sibilants. K812 is discreet and dry, I would say. Tonality - T90 is fun sounding, rhythmic, good for rock, but needs a good amp. But lower resolution and smaller scene. After AKG, the sound is more consistent, the sound class is lower, but not so much. К812 - very atmospheric, analytical sounding, neutral, emotionally less vital than Т90. Pink Floyd - Pulse - 2018 DSD won the Beyers in terms of drive and emotion. Jazz and Organ wins, of course, AKG, they are more melodic in individual instruments. I listened to Lisa Gerrard & David Kuckhermann - Hiraeth (2018) and gave my sister a comparison of both headphones, she said that AKG plays cleaner. This is a superb recording of vocals and ganks that play well on any system, but the more advanced headphones delivered even more accurate sound than the cheaper T90s. There is only one conclusion, the 812s are more technologically advanced, they bare the music making it very accurate but not as vital as we would like. I hope that after warming up a month later, I will perceive them differently. Thanks to whom this review was useful.

Taking the 812 out for a spin with the Shanling M30 and the Phatlab RASA. It’s been a while. But that is what I love about the 812: first class materials and workmanship. :)
