There is a pair of AKG K702 on craiglist near where I am vacationing, and they are going for a great price of $120.  When I was looking at K701's there have been worries of fakes, so I'm wondering if I should be concerned at all with the K702, and if so how to identify if they are genuine.  I have never heard a AKG before, so I would not be able to tell by the sound, and all I'd have to compare it to is with my ATH M50s that I have on me and my Beyerdynamic DT990 250ohm I have at home.  I know these require a good amp to be driven, and he is even offering to sell his Headroom Micro Amp for another $120.  I heard that these two pairings go well, but I also have question about these.  How does the Headroom Micro Amp compare to the Asus Xonar Essence STX or the Fiio E17?  I already own the STX, and I've been looking for a portable amp and dac, and was wondering if spending 120 alone on an amp such as this was worth it when I could get the Fiio E17 for 139 which is a Amp + DAC.

I own the K702, I'm not aware of any counterfeits. You may look for a serial number on the inside on the left cup support and check for a mini plug with a 1/4" adapter screwed over it. Just check the overall quality the K702 is a nicely finished phone
