FritzS,
How small is the difference, just in the cable, or in the sound too???

I'm shamefully interested in the link anyways...
...detachable spiral cable would allow me to recklessly contort and lay-up however I felt, w/o worry. Blue/white = don't care.

How much is the replacement spiral cable ?

Aside: Isn't Sennheiser about due to put out a successor to the 650?

Another question I'm interested in.

Gimme the exact clamp/size/comfort of the 650, with less valleys below 16k, and I'll buy. HD600/650>K701 for comfort, imo.

Last week, I had only little time to hear with :-(

The difference is very small but hearable - with some music more with others lesser. The sound is a little bit fresher, clearer. I think this is not only the different burning in time of both (K701, K702).

Today I can say - I prefer the K702.

For me - the comfort of AKG K701/702 are better than Senn HD600.

But heads and ears are different

I meant a differently tuned driver not cable or any other part of the headphone. So this applies to the sound ofcourse

They didnt say which part of the frequencyrange this applies too.

Only one person here stated the K702 sounds different. I dont have a k701 to compare. The other party giving that statement is AKG. As the K702 is offered for the same price as the K701 i don't see any reason for this to be speculations to stimulate sales. Especially since the k702 is geared for completely different market and this was the answer from AKG to the reviewer not some marketing bla. You guys give too much weight into every piece of cr*p. Who gives a crap on the k701 vs k702 topic seriously? Even if there are minimal changes? I know i dont care at all, weither true or not.

Aren't these the same studio guys who mix the music you listen to in your headphones? Calling them clueless is a bit, well, odd.
