I have serial 32288 (bought from some eBay seller (yay cashback) last December) and there are 8 bumps and the L/R emblems are up top on the headband, AKG on the lower emblems. Serial on the left.

Purchased mine through Katli Audio in Chino Hills, California. AKG K701 serial number is 30172. Made a simple mod, check out the thread I created about six months ago.

I left the mod in even after the 3000-hours I have already manage to put on these headphones because the stock rings still keep some of the harsh overtones therefore making the headphone rather unbearable after about four hours of listening. This is just my ears.
