I'm looking for a neutral sound signature with good instrument separation and detail, with the caveat that the headphone also has light weight since I have neck issues with wearing headphones too long.
These two are currently the best two I've found on my research, but I'm open to suggestions.
The K361s weight 219g and then K612 weight 238g. Which of these two is closer to what I'm looking for?
Thanks in advance.

hello there. i am new on headfi however i have had both of these headphones side by side and owned them personally.

For comfort, the K612 wins easily over the K361 however the K361 is also pretty comfortable. Do keep in mind the pads on the K361 are on the shallow side.

The headband on the K612 is kinda.. "solid" like its a suspension style headband but its just really hard. There are mods out there just putting cushioning on the headband to make it more comfy.

K361 are more technical and seperate better, K612 has higher res and with some EQ changes(diled down 2k and 3k by a few DB + a lowshelf filter bass boost). I personally prefer the K612.

Hope this helped

Thank's that is very helpful. Your review makes the k612 more appealing to me; if it came with a detachable cable it'd be a no brainer for me.
Are they hard to drive?

sorry for the late-ish response. i dont really use headfi xd.

anyways. k612 pro arent hard to drive i would say, however to eq them to make them a more fun headphone, i would recommend an amp because for EQ you will need to have atleast an -8db preamp to avoid clipping. which means ur gonna want more power.

cheap amp like ifi uno or ifi zen air dac(only 20 buck difference, get air dac)

I don't know what your budget is, but the ATH-R70X is a king of comfort and clarity. It's my avatar. They're more expensive than your AKG choices.

Thomann in the US and Europe has the best prices for those regions; I don't know what the situation is in Latin America.

I agree with this review:

The cable is detachable but nonstandard; there are knockoffs on Amazon and Aliexpress but you have to doublecheck that they fit the ATH-R70X specifically. I've had mine for more than a year with hours of daily use and there's no noticeable wear on the cable. These are made for all-day studio use.

The funny looking wings support them on your head like antigravity. Seriously, they are so lightweight I have forgotten I'm wearing them. They do benefit from an amp, but the VE Megatron ($56 shipped to US) drives them easily.

Thanks, they look great. The wings are reminiscent of my AD700 wings, so Im used to the feel of wearing them. But the R70x are much lighter!
How is the technical performance and detail?

R70x has pretty good staging performance for the price and also has a decent amount of details.

Noticably more so than K612 and K361, but that is also partially because the R70X is usually 3x as expensive
