I had the the the k701 for about a week, and currently have the livewires, if i was choosing solely on sq and i could only pick one, i would take the livewires no question about it. But that just my 2 cent.

I went from HD650 to triple fis. Triple fis are home and Im in the office and im dying to get there

. This thread is both interesting and disturbing to me. I want to like the triple fis mor ethan the HD650 but i know it will be really hard. I just wanted to try them. Chances are i am going to be in the market for a predator and the HD600 soon

It took me I month to run in my AKG 701. Keep going re: run in, then suddenly it has deep bass. But do need power, loads of power. However, it will never be rock headphone though...........but that is good reason for me to get a nice Grado RS1.......

They weren't a new pair and had a lot of hours on them before i got them. I found them rather flat & laid back sounding, just not my cup of tea but they are for a lot of others.

Otherwise a hard choice given they are chalk and cheese, the livewires for mostly portable use (zilch resale value if that matters), the K701's for home use (only) if you have a good home amp.

OK hockeyb213 with your rig I would get the Livewires. With a non portable setup 701's hands down. If you don't have the juice to do the 701's justice, what is the point?
