AirPods Max

I suppose my focus is sound quality, comfort and features. The P7W sound amazing. I have them since 2016 but the clamping force on my head (which is large) makes them uncomfortable after say 30-40 mins. I have the PX7 too as I like the sound signature. They are more comfortable than the P7W but they do not sound as good.

I found like almost 0 clamping force with the P7W while the PX (don't have the PX7) had a bit more. Neither enough to be uncomfortable though. What "features" are you actually interested in. Keep in mind that features aren't free, so you'll either have to pay more dollar or take a hit some place else.

Ah it’s the ANC and when you take them off they stop playing and recommence once you put them back on. While the PX7 have this feature it doesn’t always work. I’m also heavily immersed in the Apple ecosystem already. I also have a pair of Airpod Pros.

APM does the auto on/off and play/pause features and it's very good; rarely fails. I had issues with it with the PX, no issues with the APM.

I just got my APM and I'm a bit underwhelmed so far with the sound quality but I expect that to change for the better as the headphone drivers break in and my brain/ears get accustomed to its sound signature/tuning, just like how it was with my XM4.

If you haven’t yet, search this thread with the terms ‘balanced’ or ‘eq’. Maybe ‘accommodations’. I know those are pretty generic terms, but they’ll lead to some ways to tweak the sound a bit.

This is a better stand. Puts the phones into the low power mode since it has magnets. Needed to find a mount to mount it like this and some M3x8mm screws/bolts for said mount since the included ones were a bit short for the stand.

Edit: added links to parts.

Build my own AirPods Max stand by modifying my own build Apple Watch dock. The important thing for me was not to put pressure on the headband mesh. Maybe I will also add some magnets to put them into low power mode.

I have a genuine question; why is it so important to have a stand for the APM? Why don’t you just leave them in their case when not in use?
Mine's hanging off my shelf, so it technically doesn't take up any shelf space or real estate. Also makes it a bit more accessible as well.

Awww crap! My AirPods Max is giving me ear allergies just like the AirPods Pro and the Power Beats Pro I had previously. What kind of chemicals is Apple using in their manufacturing?!?!?

This is pity. This is one of several reasons I returning my APM, and is strange because I never having this problem with many headphones in the past.

This is one reason why it will be nice if and when third-party, premium-quality APM ear pads enter the market.

There eventually will be 3rd party pads. The question is will they be good pads... Then pad rolling will also become a thing XD
