i had no script, but it became a pain. i currently have:
Adblock plus
Fasterfox
Google toolbar
google preview (a real help)
piclens (look it up, its cool and fun)
ie tab
tab scope (also useful, expecially since you can click in the links)
tab mix plus.

i remember i once had lik 50 plus ones, but i never used most of them, so i got rid of them.

Australian English Dictionary - for proper spelling of English
BugMeNot plugin - to view sites using public usernames/passwords
FEBE - getting extensions out if they've already been installed, also for backups
FireShot - taking screenies
Get Jetable Mail - disposable emails
IE Tab - open an IE tab in firefox for those rare cranky pages
Linkification - converts plain text URLs into clickable links
Popup ALT attribute - shows ALT tags in a tooltip like IE
Submit to tab - open form buttons in new tabs
Tripleselect - triple clicking selects the whole paragraph, like in IE
Web Developer - for enabling/disabling and doing EVERYTHING best add on EVER

you can select what you what/how much you want to block. when you see a flash add or something, then select the block button taht should appear above it. it takes a few weeks for the filter to build up (ie you clicking on the block button). but its worth it.

Adblock Plus - the second thing I install on any new computer (after Firefox itself)
Adblock Filterset.G Updater - Great set of auto-updated ad rules for Adblock
Greasemonkey - Amazingly powerful, although the only thing I use it for nowadays is getting rid of the astoundingly annoying left-side ad bars on certain websites
Mouse Gestures - it's a tossup if I use these or keyboard shortcuts more, but they're nice to have around

Alex - get the Filterset.G updater

Customize Google is pretty much unbeatable for everyday searching. It streams your results as you scroll down, so you never have to click "next page" when you reach the end of a long list.
