I'm just interested what add-on or extension are you using for your firefox? A general description on why are you using that addon/extension will be nice.

I don't feel so good right now, so I'll come back to this thread once it gets some replies and add onto them. I have quite a bit, and this stomach ache isn't getting any help while I sit here and type. But to start you off:

Adblock

Here are the good ones that I use:
  1. Adblock Plus - Yes, web minus ads is cool.
  2. All-in-One Gestures - When I'm mousing around, clicking links etc, it's quite nice to be able to use gestures to: forward, backward, close tab, next tab, prev tab... that's all I use it for.
  3. All-in-One Sidebar - MUCH nicer from a UI standpoint to have all these things in the side bar vs separate windows. (addons, themes, history, bookmarks, etc)
  4. Download Statusbar - Along the same lines as All-in-One Sidebar, puts downloads as small status bars along the bottom of the browser. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
  5. Firebug - A must-have for any front end (html/css/javascript) web developers. Inspect anything. Absolutely huge (as in value) extension.
  6. Googlepedia - Make use of the right half of the Google search results page with a relevant Wikipedia page!
  7. HTML Validator - Validate and see errors/warnings for the page. Can you tell I'm a web dev yet?
  8. Tab Mix Plus - Add all those tab features that were missing. Highly recommended again.
  9. Web Developer - Lots of little tricks for web devs.

Alright, I'm feeling better now.

Adblock - Obviously good
Adblock Filterset.G Updater - Convenient, except for that if you want to add something yourself, the next time it updates, you'll have to add it again. That issue might be fixed by now.
All-In-One Gestures - Already mentioned
Colorful Tabs - It might be useless with the newest version of Firefox or Tabbrowser preferences, but it looks nice and helps you differentiate the tabs with your peripheral vision.
Fasterfox - You have it, it's kind of self explanatory.
Flashgot - GREAT download manager. You have to download Flashget too. It's free.
Forecastfox - I don't really like it, as I always end up checking weather.com anyway so I know what hour it might rain, but it gives you the gist of what it will be like, and isn't an inconvenience.
Gmail Notifier - One of the best. If you use Gmail and constantly get e-mails, you can use this so that you won't have to keep a tab of it open.
IE View - For those pages where Firefox just doesn't work.
Image Zoom - Love it.
Nuke Anything Enhanced - Comes in handy when there are large, or buggy things on the screen. There used to be a function where you could permanently nuke it from coming up again, but it's been gone for a couple versions now.
Paste & Go (Currently not available) - Still waiting for the update! However, it's really convenient. Right click on the address or search bar and click paste & go instead of simply paste. Saves a second or two each time, but it feels great to simply have the convenience. I miss it.
ReloadEvery - Helps with auctions and such, but you have to make sure you turn it off once you want to do something instead.
Tab X - Might be unnecessary with the latest version of Firefox or Tabbrowser Preferences, but oh well. If not, it's really convenient
Tabbrowser Preferences - Great. It's a necessity.
Text to Image - Very handy at certain times, but I like to keep it off until I find a bunch of images linked.

What's your memory usage? Mine is at 50k, but slowly grows to about 75. With Forecastfox it was going to 125k (also wasn't too accurate for my area-don't use it anymore).

I stick to the basics, not too much going on here.
Adblock Plus - Blocks ads and everything, but it's kind of redundant with NoScript.
Download Statusbar - Convenient, can instantly work downloads instead of hassling in a different window.
Fasterfox- Self-explanatory.
IE Tab - Self-explanatory.
NoScript - Probably the most important here. Blocks Flash, Java, XSS from all sites except those you put on a whitelist, and very easy to use.
Tab Mix Plus - Also essential. Open closed tabs, show progress, etc.
URL Link - Not too many know about this one. You can highlight a URL that hasn't been highlighted, or you can highlight words and instantly search Wikipedia, Google, etc.

A few more:

Greasemonkey - Runs various user created Java scripts, mini-extensions almost.
Answers - Right click on a word to look it up.
Image Zoom - Use mouse wheel to enlarge/shrink images.

everyone should have Adblock and especially NoScript installed.
Among the plugins not yet mentioned
Morning Coffee: open all your favourites web sites in one go. Incredibly useful little bugger.
del.icio.us: search your bookmarks (and tags), access them from many computers.

I use Forecast Fox, IE Tab, and Tabbrowser Preferences regularly. A cool one is "TabEffect" but you're not going to want to use it regularly.

McAfee SiteAdvisor--tells you whether or not a site is safe, and is good with search engines too.
Adblock Plus--no more annoying ads.
IE Tab--see how your website looks in IE compared to Fx.
UnPlug.

Hi guys, I just want to add some of my addon addition

Foxclocks -- to display several clocks on the bottom of the status bar
piclens -- love it to browse pics
foxmark -- to synchronize bookmarks on several machine
pdf download -- to see in html format
faviconize tab -- rarely use but I guess it's useful for tab who you have it open all day without taking up so much tab space (ex: head-fi)
