Any idea when is the bundle going to be back in stock on the Amazon? I was going to pull the trigger, just found out today it's no longer available.
It was for a limited time only. We may do another bundle, same deal, available for a week starting January 16. Will share more info once available.

Hi Jason,

I noticed that even the P1 unit itself isn’t available for order. Is there a specific reason for this? Also, are there any other retailers currently carrying the unit?

Thanks

It will be in stock and available for purchase by the end of this week on Amazon.

The only countries where the P1 is available through dealers would be the UK, Germany, Japan, China and Korea.

Had the chance to compare the original Project M (that I own) to the Q1 variant. The difference is subtle but noticeable. The contrast between high and low tones is slightly higher with the q1, it in deed seems to have a little bit more punch and some people might prefer that. Me personally, which surprised myself (because I was expecting it the other way round), I prefer the original version. It sounds more coherent to me, because the higher contrast of the new version also lets it sound a bit thinner and more "metallic" in the highs (at least to my ears…interestingly, my impressions seem to differ a bit from another post earlier in this thread.)
But again, generally differences are small. I guess, friends of brighter sounding earphones will continue to enjoy both. I enjoy my Project M the most with slightly EQing it to my own needs btw. 😊

just had a short trip before the golden week in tokyo. the Q1 is now reduced to a level lower than Project M! i've got the Project M and liked it a lot - very reasonable price, exceptionally beautiful design and built, great sound. so it seems a bit stupid to get the Q1 even the price is so low. but on the 2nd day i visited e-earphone, i saw the price of the brand new one was the same as those 2nd hand and in fact just 50% of what i paid for my preordered project M (which I considered very reasonable already). more strangely, the project m was still selling at the original price (i.e. higher than the Q1!) so i ended up taking home a small box with me

the sound is a bit different than its sibling. it's warmer than project m and the mid-bass seems hit harder. actually i preferred the project m for both the tuning and the look, but, again, for the price, i still think the Q1 has its own merit.

i believe the substantial price cut for both the P1 and Q1 are not a good sign for the brand. i won't be surprise if i heard sad news for the brand . . . ( hope than i'm wrong here).

It really depends on personal taste. After comparing Project M and Q1, I prefer Q1 because PM sounds a bit harsh and treble peaky to me. I like IEM with warm sound tuning so by choosing among these 2 brothers Q1 is definitely my choice. I also like the bass of Q1 over PM. It hits harder and seems more punchy.

My Q1 has reached over 300 hours of burn-in and sound has evolved quite a lot. The bass part hits really deep and punchy, mids and high has opened up and becomes very smooth. The whole sound stage is very coherent and crystal clear.

As you mentioned, the price of Activo products reflected in Tokyo is not a good sign, sales maybe hit by intense market competition or economic factor. Hope this brand can survive in the future as It would be pity for such a good brand which makes high quality DAP and IEM with economic pricing that would exit the head-fi market.
