Today I tried Line-Out to my active speakers (iloud) and the sound is slightly distorted. Any advice?

I only tried the line-out when I added an amplifier but the sound was great with no distortion. I have two M2 and on both the sound from the line-out sound good with no distortion.
I have a question regarding Qobuz streaming on my M2. Mobile Network & Wi-fi streaming only allows 16-bit/44.1kHz, but my iphone 7plus says Hi-Res (24-bits / 192 kHz).
My Bluesound Node 2 works fine though. Please help if anyone knows why it’s (Qobuz or M2) doing this. I’ve searched quite a bit but couldn’t find anything relating to the M2 and Qobuz.
Thanks

The problemm is acoustic research doesn't exist like it did back then. They got bought by Voxx and since then it's just a brand name for them to cash In on.What is sad is to see two companies that really managed to create two great devices ( Acoustic Research Ar-M2 and Calyx with Calyx M), both companies didn't know how to promote the products to have enough sales for them to think to update their dap line with new products. I hope at least one of this companies decide is time for a new dap because I believe now the dap market is a bit bigger than it was in the past and with the knowledge thei have in creating great devices they can have a chance with the right promotion. Acoustic Research is time for you to create the new great dap because I believe many of us are ready and willing to buy your products

The Acoustic Research was part of Voxx when they released the M2. I still hope they will release a successor

How long has it been w/o communication? Maybe they only check emails every week? This is a very niche product.
about 10 days. they make cases for other things too so maybe the guy is on holiday or something. the only other alternative is this https://www.audiosanctuary.co.uk/acoustic-research-ar-m2-leather-case.html but its really expensiveI haven't ordered anything yet. Yes and with BREXIT you'll have to pay VAT if you're in the EU.about 10 days. they make cases for other things too so maybe the guy is on holiday or something. the only other alternative is this https://www.audiosanctuary.co.uk/acoustic-research-ar-m2-leather-case.html but its really expensive
I was going to buy that too, but.......
To any owners, are you capable or running Tidal through the AR HI-RES player? It doesn't let me anymore, Qobuz runs okay though. I'd just say bye to Tidal if I can't make use of it in the player.
Ewetcr, I’m just curious if your M2 looks like mine when streaming from Qobuz. My iphone shows it can stream in high resolution both mobile network and wi-fi. The M2 shows cd quality only. The Qobuz song titles played on the M2 shows high resolution but actual output is in 16 bit (sounds less detailed than on the iphone). To any owners, are you capable or running Tidal through the AR HI-RES player? The same song titles played on Qobuz through my Bluesound Node sounds/are in high resolution though. If it means anything, my AR Music Player works fine as well.
If you or anyone on here could help chime in I’d appreciate it very much.

M2 can't stream in hi-res with 3rd party Android apps, if I am not mistaken. I can't currently.
There is no optional Android path by default. 3rd party apps run through Android in lossless only.
You can root the M2, install PlayStore, and install UAPP or another player app that has streaming API's and its own driver to bypass Android? (steps are in this thread)
AR players are basically UAPP variants that launch their own driver to get around the limitation.

Only the 2 included players (modified UAPP) are capable of bypassing the Android Stack. Everything else goes through Android and is limited to 44.1/48kHz
Even after rooting and installing google play and the normal UAPP that then goes through Android. You could ask Nayparm over at NPAudio the guy who did the rooting guides if his custom rom is available.

You saved me some time friend, thanks. I was under the impression I could root, install UAPP, and get Tidal and Qobuz hi-res w/o their respective app CPU overhead's.Only the 2 included players (modified UAPP) are capable of bypassing the Android Stack. As an aside, on some albums I will still prefer lossless M2 to other players hi-res versions, lol.
