I also owned a few Ifi products, and despite having similar chips they've all sounded very dull to me, overly warm, and lacking dynamics (even their Pro iCan thingy sound iffy to me). Implementation is everything!
perfectly summarized .... these were exactly my impressions, despite all those awards the IFI Nano was winning and all the positive feedback and postings

I saw these some time ago and was to get it, but can't justify it having already a CMA400i dac/amp as my desktop:

I thought this would be the desktop version of the AR-M2.
A bit pricey for something this old, but I could imagine it sounds pretty similar to the AR-M2. Read a review on it and the guy missed some more detail from it.

just found a brand new one, available in US for 199$
https://www.ebay.com/itm/225079891131
... and they even accept price suggestions ...

aaaargg ... if I would not have bought a DCA Stealth today, this one would have definitely become a new familiy member of mine.
I bought my brand new AR-M2 from this guy. Very serious seller from a communication perspective and from buyer feedbacks it seems. My AR-M2 will land in a few days…

Having the perspective to make every modern DAP with USB Audio out, sound like the fabulous AR-M2, was just too promising to resist ... let's see if all wishes will come true

Nice. Keep us posted.

Still waiting on my AR-M2. Seems to be taking a leisurely route all the way from Germany to Austria...so much to see en route.

Please do compare! My first thought was that the dap might have better amplification due to its battery and not requiring it via USB. That's just easily solved by stacking the dac with any amp of your choice. To be honest, I rarely go past 15% of the dap volume wheel.

I'll try to do so - but I have currently some problems to set it up in the chain, where it was intended to find its place - probably I am having a cable (OTG) or a power issue ... still under investigation. As soon as it is working I'll start to do a sound comparison with the AR-M2
