so i've read threads about what earpads to buy to replace the stock A900 earpads and most of them went for the A1000 earpad. but then i came across the A900ti earpads and wonder if they'll fit and work just the same, if not better than the A1000? the A900ti earpads are 10 bucks cheaper on audiocube2.

The stock A900 pads are pure crap as far as durability is concerned. The A900ti as mentioned earlier should fit and would recommend going for them since they are cheaper than the A1000 pads. The W1000 pads will also fit and maybe a bit more comfortable and not as hard as the A900ti, but they also cost a little more.

thanks for your input guys. it really does mean a lot. i'll be going with the w1000 pads since i literally use this headphone everyday. i might as well spend a little more.

The W1000 pads are pleather, which isn't much better than the A900 pads (in terms of comfort/sweat-inducing, that is, but they are better-made). The W2002 pads are real leather, and thus more comfy and somewhat less sweat inducing. However, neither will fit the A900

is this true? it seems to be the opposite of what you guys said.

The W1000 will fit but it will take some effort to get them on the A900 and you could possibly damage the ear pads in doing so. As far as comfort/sweat-inducing between the stock A900 and W1000 pads, I haven't had any problems. If your ears get hot and sweaty with the stock A900 pads, then chance are good that you might also get hot and sweaty ears with the W1000 or W2002 pads. If that's the case, you might want to consider velour pads.

the a900 pads don't really make my ears sweat or get ridiculous hot that i feel like i have to take my headphone off. i can wear them for hours straight on. i ordered the W1000 pads monday march 12 and is still in processing from audio cubes II.

i have a question since you have experience with the W1000 pads on the a900 - it should fit on as long as i take my time putting them on right? or will there be some stretching involved?

o m g. you were NOT kidding when you said there will be stretching involved. it took me an hour to get both earpads on but it was worth it in the end. ill post pictures later just so people can see how the w1000 pads fit the a900 if anyone in the future googles it.

Cool, glad to  hear that you managed to get those W1000 pads on the A900 without damaging the cans or the pads. Do post pics and maybe a brief description on how you went about it for future reference.

I wonder if those will work on A2000X.  I know that A(D)900 and under have larger diameter baffles/cups than A2kX/A1kX, AD1k/AD2k, and W1kX(?).

My girlfriend spent an hour trying to get W1000 pads on my A900s, but couldn't manage it. Maybe there are slightly smaller and larger versions, or maybe the OP is just really skilled, but if it's possible it's really difficult. It took her about 2 minutes to put the proper A900 pads on (I bought both).

The W1000 pads cost $31.30 and the A900 pads cost $7.16 direct from Audio Technica, far cheaper than Audiocubes.

I have a pair of W1000 pads if anyone wants to buy them, but I'm in New Zealand so shipping them outside of NZ/Aus wouldn't be worth it.
