I've tried that a couple times with the bulky Cardas jackets, it works pretty well. Nice illustration of it

At this point I prefer the added flexibility of just heatshrinking the twisted pairs leading up to the RCAs rather than trying to use the jackets.

I said I would come back to the sleeve with glue inside.

Not only for Y-splitt but for normal terminations as well.
I find this sleeving better shrinking, no deformation, slower shrinking so you can better guide the process. And the glue makes a very fine solid connection to both sleeving and inner tube. That sure helps the strain relief issue.
