Hello everyone, I am new to the forum.
My dear Shanling M6 (not the Ultra, from 2021) is slowly dying and I want to get a new DAP. I loved everything about the M6, except for its size and weight which meant I couldn't use it anytime and anywhere.
Which is why I am looking for a more compact DAP, while hoping that in the past three years more compact DAPs have been released that don't sacrifice quality, but come in a smaller package, and I wonder what the forum would recommend.

I only listen to local files (flac, mp3) and organise my files into thematic folders, so on Poweramp I usually use the File / File Hierarchy to select my music.
I currently use a Kiwi Ears Quintet and a Beyerdynamic DT 880.
I tried using my Sony Xperia 1 VI, but for whatever reason, Poweramp feels very laggy and unstable and just sounds/feels a tad bit worse than the M6.

I have considered the following, but I am open to suggestions:
Hiby M300 - Would allow me to continue with Poweramp, but I've read some negative opinions on its sound quality. it also haver lots of features that I don't need. It also doesn't have a balanced 4.4 mm output, but I don't have anything currently that I would use it with.
Shanling M1 Plus - I've read great things about it's music quality, but the OS seems very basic (and someone said it doesn't support playback by folders)
Hiby R3 II - I don't know much about this player, but seems that it's pretty excellent when it comes to pure audio quality.
Sony NW-A306 - I am not sure whether it is actually better then the above three. The small price difference wouldn't be an issue.

These are all much smaller and lighter than the M6, and that convenicence is very important, but I wouldn't want to compromise on sound quality (compared to the M6).
Which one of these would you recommend? Or is there any I missed? Is this a "can't go wrong with either" situation?

Since how your always carrying your phone around, have you considered using it with a dongle?
