Hi!

I'm looking for recommendations for some comfortable closed-back headphones I can take around with me to use in an office setting or just for traveling in general. Ideally I'm looking for headphones around the $800 mark.

I'm looking for a pair that provides great isolation while still offering audiophile sound. I'd like something that provides good clarity, detail and instrument separation, and is relatively flat.

The genres of music I listen to are generally classic rock, jazz, blues, alternative, and some modern sound too.

Any suggestions would be really appreciated!

Audio Technica ath-wp900 is a beautiful portable. Not exactly tuned flat though. Mild to moderate V shaped tuning, with a little added emphasis in the presence region. Really good low end, and very comfortable.

Awesome! I've been looking into them a bit and they're definitely on my shortlist. Is amplification a must for them, or do they run decently off of a phone?
