I also find this trend tiresome, but then we 51 year old males with no social graces are like that, arent we ?

You could always say your budget limit; then there is pretty much no point for putting your age up.

By the way nice title OP. lol'd a bit.

Kids know that everyone's parenting instincts will come out and/or many adults like to show off their infinite wisdom and they will get plenty of response to their questions. That's the way I see it.

You guys are making them feel bad with this thread lol. I guess it has something to do with disposable income. How many of you say "if you stretch your budget/wallet a bit, then you can get x or y"? Well what if he or she can't? I guess age is an indicator to how far they can stretch it, unless they lie about their budget.

yeah, how many responses does the 13y.o. thread have so far? 100 something?

Hahaha, I wouldn't say it is due to "parenting instincts". As someone mentioned, that poor kid is probably having his head turned around by the hundreds of serious and a bit of non-serious suggestions given to him.

So, in hindsight, mentioning the age was indeed not such a good idea. If he didn't mention his age, there would probably have been 3-4 replies which would have in turn helped him take a faster decision.

C'mon you lot - I think we all need to admit that the day we discovered the headphone universe, we were ALL 8-year olds. In a candy shop. With bulging eyes and shallow pockets.

I'm still holding my breath for a "Sexy 21 year old female needs headphone help from nerdy guy" thread.

As much as I would almost consider it spam or a trick I would still check the thread.

13 is a lucky number on Head-Fi, or what?
