7Hz Impressions & Discussion

They are not "Officially" announced yet. Last week Ray from 7Hz called me and told me what was up. While we we were talking he flashed a few "disappearing" pictures at me over the next couple of days, he began talking about them on the 7Hz Fan Page on FB Group join link here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1077733246405322
Interesting, they seem to recommend these JVC tips in one of the post on the Facebook group, anyone tested them?

EQ settings for the timeless. Make sure to identify the peak in the treble with a sine sweep and remove it. Also reducing 2.4kHz because it rises to early and makes vocals sound harsh, also a boost at 3-4kHz for more forward vocals.

Are there any bluetooth cables that could drive these well? I've seen some people use the ear hook type bluetooth adapters, namely the FiiO UTWS5, but it there anything like that but in cable form to go around the neck?

The HiBy WU1 LDAC sounds fantastic and no problem with ⚡

Also the Qudelix 5K is very popular, and seems to be well loved for that purpose.

The Shanling UP5 is a magnificent pairing with the Timeless. I use it with a 15 Inch Cable and clip the BT DAC to my shirt with a magnet. It works great, no excess wire, full LDAC and APTX HD and outstanding battery life. Way better than Bluetooth Cables IMHO

Thank you for alerting me. :beerchug:

That is a considerate addition by 7hz to send along an MMXC removal tool with their shipments of IEMs with MMCX cables. It is too bad that I didn't get one included with my shipment. I've emailed Hifigo.com and asked them to send me one with my next order.

Pinching that gap where the MMCX removal tool goes using my fingers does work, but it isn't always consistent, varying according to the length of my fingernails and the angle of the applied pressure.

It is very smart of 7hz/Sellers to include the MMCX removal tool to reduce their RMA numbers from broken MMCX connectors.

I didn't keep up in this thread after returning my Tour 7hz Timeless, I'll go back and read up on what I missed asap.

I'm very happy most of you received the MMCX removal tool with your 7hz MMCX IEM, as that is the easiest and safest consistent method for reducing the stress on the MMCX connector disconnect.
The Fiolo is a 2 pin btw

Got my new 7hz just now. Sounds terrific connected to my iFi Go Blu, 4.4, original cable.

Hey, thanks for your feedback, that's great to know that this pairing works well. Let me ask, is there anything specific about it that works for you? One fellow Head-fi user recently asked me about GO Blu with 7Hz, but without hearing that combo I couldn't say anythig meaningful. Thanks!

I don't know why, but for me Timeless seems to be unlistenable. First I've tried to tame the treble as much as possible, because I find it too sharp to my ear. And I succeeded in this. The problem is that shrilling vocals are still there no matter what. I can't even describe it, it feels like my ear feels high tension, and it's very uncomfortable. But the worst part is that it doesn't matter what volume is set - the ear tension is always present. I'm out of ideas. I want to listen my Timeless, I absolutely love this technical, clear and bassy sound, but I get fatigue from them literally in seconds of listening.

Same thing here, mate. In my case, the only solution was using Azla Sedna EarFit (Regular). I wrote about them:

There are similar reviews on Amazon saying these are the only eartips which make the Timeless sound most natural and tolerable for certain people who are sensitive to sound pressure above 10K. Although it depends on your ear canals of course. I bought them in my local audio store even cheaper than on AliExpress. Alternatively, you might want to EQ down 13-15K by 4dB.

The thing is I'm not sure if my problem is in 13-15к range, because I feel tension mostly on vocals and guitars. And I should mention that I mean metalcore vocals and guitars. As a comparison, I have Audiosense AQ0 as my main earphones, and I like everything about them, as a basshead. But its a dynamic driver, that can't give me the details that Timeless can give. For now I use KBEAR 08 eartips with stock cable, my DAC is E1DA 9038SG3 that is set to Corrected Min Phase Fast digital filter. There's also PCM to DSD option set in Neutron player. So... I did almost everything with the treble harshness, and as I hear it doesn't bother me anymore, but what do bother is extreme vocals and distorted guitars.
