5th Gen. Ipod (finally)

It's not very clear on their website... does the new iPod allow for custom EQ settings or not..?

For me, the announcement is perfect timing, although I don't have any use for Video; I'm going to see if I can get to the Apple Store in either Yokohama or Tokyo (maybe an early shipment)?

They should be available in stores by next week, but the 30gigger is ready to ship within one day at apple.com

Unlikely. You'll have to convert to MPEG4 or the superior (though of course not if transcoding) H.264.

Doesn't look like it. Will need a mic like previous iPods (though internal processing this time).

I watched the BBC news report here in UK - the reporter had the slick looking black pod in hand - it looks small

the click wheel doesn't make unit look wide or big - its just small. More to do with thiness though

iLounge says the new dock uses variable output for its line-out. Does that mean a true line-out is gone without using an old dock or Pocket Dock and similar adapters?

Has anyone verified the tweak the built-in equalizer to suit your songs (on Apples feature/settings page) just means select an EQ setting and not make personal adjustments?

While eq options might be a factor, surely its not as important as some make out online?
