I did consider the 2ks, but i figured performance/vs value i just digged the cups and didnt feel like investing 300 dollars into phones i already have. 
 
Considering you can get 325 grados for that price ya know. Either way, i just ordered them for $490 off amazon, i coulda got cheaper but i also had a $75 gift card. Parents gave me $300 for christmas for them, so my pocket expense so far is an impressive $130. Love it.

I haven't heard the D7k before, I have a set on the way for recable, I'll be able to tell you that but the D5k's from the one's I've worked on are amazing, and they sound even better if you can find replacement wood cups for them.

Denon AHD2000 or Ultrasone 900's would work. some Beyers would also do the trcik. im not into Beyer so i don't have a specific model for u
