$500 Limit. AKG K712 Pro, HiFiMan HE-400 or Something Else?

What sound signature do you prefer?

1.)  Do you like more bass than treble?

2.)  Do you prefer neutrality vs fun sounding?

3.)  Do you want something that you will not want to upgrade later?

4.)  Do you need it to be portable?

The K712 Pro and HD650 would be my suggestions.  The HD650 can be found on sale sometimes making it slightly more affordable.

Q701 for around $250. You could just buy some Anniversary (memory foam) pads for an extra $70 and save yourself a ton of money.
HD-650 IMO is only worth getting if you can find it for under $350.

This, unless you find the matte black/orange theme worth the extra $200 over the normal Q701's.

Have you been living under a rock? They have a MEGA BASS BOOST!

Apparently the K712 is a bit different than even the Anniversary. Slightly different pads and some minor changes. But no way I'd pay a $200 premium.
