I feel like based on what I've heard from reviews the Pilgrim doesn't seem like it fits my preference. Sony I think is hard as there is not a lot of good IEMs in that pricerange. Symphonium honestly I've never heard of it.Oh I'm sorry I thought you'd listed mmk3 as an option you could buy.
For mid-fi, also maybe try some non-chifi items like sony or elysian or symphonium products?
But I've witnessed myself that the sparkly colored (weird, unnatural, forward) treble is something that resides in a lot of "highly regarded" IEMs..So many good IEMs nowadays, you can buy any well regarded IEM and have a winner, IMHO.
If you hunt for a particular sound signature, or something super duper good, then it gets tricky. Otherwise, knock yourself out![]()
I'm just now noticing that Simgot Supermix 4 is right behind Hype 4 on jaytiss ranking list.. Even with a 9 in bass rating.. I never thought the SM4 was known for bass in particular, I thought they were mostly a harman set with emphasis on clarity and resolution.. The main criticism seems to be that its shouty in the mids especially at louder volume and that would kill my preference for bassy electronic music as I always listen rather loud.. I assume the Hype 4 would be better in that case.. I want something that is very smooth in high volume and doesn't just scale the mids+treble too loud with volume.
