Oh I'm sorry I thought you'd listed mmk3 as an option you could buy.
For mid-fi, also maybe try some non-chifi items like sony or elysian or symphonium products?
I feel like based on what I've heard from reviews the Pilgrim doesn't seem like it fits my preference. Sony I think is hard as there is not a lot of good IEMs in that pricerange. Symphonium honestly I've never heard of it.
So many good IEMs nowadays, you can buy any well regarded IEM and have a winner, IMHO.

If you hunt for a particular sound signature, or something super duper good, then it gets tricky. Otherwise, knock yourself out 😂
But I've witnessed myself that the sparkly colored (weird, unnatural, forward) treble is something that resides in a lot of "highly regarded" IEMs..
I'm just now noticing that Simgot Supermix 4 is right behind Hype 4 on jaytiss ranking list.. Even with a 9 in bass rating.. I never thought the SM4 was known for bass in particular, I thought they were mostly a harman set with emphasis on clarity and resolution.. The main criticism seems to be that its shouty in the mids especially at louder volume and that would kill my preference for bassy electronic music as I always listen rather loud.. I assume the Hype 4 would be better in that case.. I want something that is very smooth in high volume and doesn't just scale the mids+treble too loud with volume.

I often see TheHeadphoneShow get a lot of crap.. weird tastes at times maybe.. but I think he addressed a lot of the possible shortcomings with both the Davinci and the Hype 4. He both critisized the bass of the Davinci (which I thought was refreshing.. compared to how everyone preaches about Davinci bass) and he also addressed the treble peak of the Hype 4..

I think they are regarded as generally worse? I'm ready to shell up the money that hype 4 costs.. I just need to take a decision  its not really in stock in any of the places I'm looking (so no rush really).. except for amazon.de but there its 464 EUR excl. shipping, MEH.. Quite the markup.
in my country its 449E and shipping free, where are you from?
edit: its +- the same price as from oficial site with VAT

the new Simgot EM10 (might be boring), and the Dusk 2 (treble has issues in analog mode), or go for a classic like the Aful Preformer 8. or the Xenns Tea 2.
Exactly, I was just looking at the EM10 and it had even less subbass than Truthear Nova which I consider quite safe already.. Not like I prefer anymore bass its more the quality, impact, room and the slam I like..

I somehow found em10 vs monarch 3 which looks very similar. Where is the catch?

Oh, right.. I think I mistaken the SIMGOT EM10 with Softears Studio 4 which I also looked into, it has indeed a smaller subbass (less than harman even)

I think I'll get the Hype 4 from there.. a bit worried about the low trustpilot score on hifi-passion the reviews seems a bit dodgy from the stores part.. not taking returns, not paying returns within 14 days of purchase and not responding + ending up with paypal handling refunds.. sounds not good.. I have ordered eartips there before but never returns handled
