3rd Annual Austin, Texas Spring Meet - March 2nd, 2013

It depends, CD based systems used to be standard, but now its mostly laptops with some CDs and some tablets. Most laptops should allow you to plug in a usb drive, and CD systems you'll want to burn yourself a demo disc or carry all you discs with you. For tablets you are usually limited to what they have on board. Depending on your familiarity with the software of the laptop you might not be able to get it working with your music without help. If you are really wanting your own music, you'll need to track down the owner to help, otherwise just use what is on there already. Don't hesitate to ask owners, though, we're all here to have a good time and help out.

Most tend to bring CDs or a transport to run into their DACs. Laptops will work to an extent but not if DACs require drivers. I'd suggest a hard drive. Easy to listen from that on someone else's laptop.

I'll just be bringing 70 or so records (hopefully in a nice 'bin' by then) people can flip through and out on as they please though I think I'll want to oversee cueing each one up. I won't be doing a ton of 'listening' anyway.

Probably one of these...

Here's the one I have MT.  It will hold about 70 LP's and is sturdy enough.  I may fill one up to bring with me (or bring a few records and haul something else in there with them.

I'd like to listen to mostly all of those. But Beyer, Grado and Denton for me if you have the room.

Okay, I'm bringing the ZO2.3, Phillips Uptowns, and JVC HA-S500s. Please add them to the list, and remove the HD650s from the list, thanks. :)

I just have to say, this is going to be an awesome meet - and I've never been to one!

Seriously, though - to have a chance to hear so much nice gear, all in one spot - priceless.

I'm going to take notes so I can refer to my impressions later.  Otherwise it will just get scrambled once I hit about the 5th audition.

Hi all....I haven't been active for a while and I honestly can't say if I'll be able to make it to this meet but if I am in town I will for sure be there.

If am able to come I'll bring my gear which includes:

Denon DVD-2900 multi disk player  (it plays anything short of BR...even .mp3 files burnt to disk)
Little Dot MKIVse (in preamp for Stax and also able to drive dynamics simultaneously)
Sonic Impact Super T-amp (driving the wee)
Woo Audio Wee

Alessandro MS1
Sennheiser HD580
Ultimate Ears Tripple-fi 10 (with alcohol for cleaning)
Stax Signature SR-404

I probably won't know if I can be there until the week before, but if that changes I will give as advanced notice as I can.
