I currently have AKG Q701,K702, K240s. I do love clarity and detail, but am looking for something perhaps a tinge darker, not sloppy in the low end. My amps are Magni 3 and little Dot 1+ with Burson v5i opamp.

I listen to 60s 70s classic rock, prog, some 80s rock, some metal, jazz, classical (Tchaikovsky Debussy Brahms Bach et cetera) synth wave, dream pop, shoegaze, acoustic guitar, brass, audio drama ...

I generally prefer open back or semi-open, but I am open (heh) to closed back headphones as well.
And now for some meaningless adjectives.
I appreciate articulation in the percussion. I also like deep sub-bass extension and a sloppy "muddy" sound when the bass muddles up the mid-range

The used market is open to me as well as new.

~ $250 is my budget. I am in no hurry.

Thanks.

I would think you sell off the Q701 and K240, and just use the K702 for everything?
Soundmagic HP151 closed and HP200 open headphones have a nice thump and sell for way under your budget.
Check out Massdrop.
