Given how busy Lee is I thought I would give him about a week and a half to get my monks shipped. Nope, just 2 days.
He is busy though, so just know your stuff will get shipped ;)

Edit: I did a long session of listening to all my headphones with one song 2 times each on one song, and then switched randomly between them for the 3rd round. I dare say the VE monk with a headamp sounded closest to the Hifiman HE-400? Out of everything I own, Monk was #3... and that's why i bought extras.

i should have bought a zen 2.0!!! but i want to wait for the clear ones....

I think Lee must work 24/7 as I just received my Zen 2's in the Uk that I ordered 9 days ago. I can now say that truthfully I am on the path to enlightenment! :dark_sunglasses:
Lee thankyou once again

Hey guys, very long time forum lurker here with a question. Normally I'd try to figure this out myself, but since this is kind of a niche product and I don't know a heck of a lot about this sort of thing I've gotta come out of hiding and actually ask the experts.

Would my rockboxed sansa fuze be able to drive these earbuds well? It pairs well with my portapro's in my opinion, but I'd like something smaller for my train commute and I absolutely can't stand having anything in my ear canal, so IEM's are out of the question. I just don't know if the old gal will be able to give the monk enough juice to shine or not.

If not, I suppose it's time to finally to buy a new player after 7 years, but I'm rather fond of my little fuze.

Sansa Fuze will drive the Monk well. Even my Meizu M1 Note can drive them to loud levels but with an amp they shine. ;)

Thanks for the fast answers, both of you. I'm going to order one later tonight. Might even get two at once, just to have a spare lying around or to give to a friend.

Would getting a budget amp or a better player (maybe with an integrated amp, if that's a thing?) give me very noticibly better sound over just using the fuze?

Fuze is out dated and there are several good DAPs out there such as Xduoo X3, Fiio X1, Newsmy A33 and Ritmix RF 7650 (if you live in Russia). Topping Nx1 is also cheap but powerful and clean amp that could pair well with your Fuze.

Hey @golov17, afaik you are russian and you should try Ritmix RF-7650 with Monk man. They are made for each other seriously. ;) One of the best pairings so far! Just do it! :D

They are dirty cheap in your country!
