Picked up 3 pairs of the Red Monk Plus. A shame some people in the Massdrop discussion are really uhh.. judgmental. 
 
Also Lee, just wondering and I mean no disrespect to your newer versions of earbuds but do you so happen to have older versions of your earbuds like the Zen 1.0? I think I might be the only one when I say this, but I liked the livelier tuning of the first Zen.

Both seem to have Wolfson DACs. There's quite little spec info available about Agptek IMP or Aigo Z1 player but they do share some similarities in their looks with Newsmy G1.

I prefer the donuts in the original, or the expansion pack. Help with the fit, and don't "hide" the sound.

Excuse me...can someone tell me where is possible to buy a monk first version?I have already 2 monk plus, and I really appreciate them, but I find them a little harsh and fatiguating. So I'll be glad to try the normal monk.
Tell me if you have a monk to sell ( ask a realistic prize please!)

I listen Agptek imp right now with Monk plus, and I have no complaints about sound, at all.

I've got a pair of Monk Beta and one of Monk 1.0, but neither of them is with mic.
I think Monks with mic are just discontinued. Still, you can buy some in China. 
 
For your question, some may use double or even triple layers of foams to soften the treble. However, partial details would be missing.
If no foam goes well with the Monk Plus buds for your ears, maybe they're not designed for you.
