1964 EARS V6 Thread

If someone wanted a sound closest to the JH16FPs would you recommend the V6 or the V6s. I compared the quads to the JH16s and the pass was a bit too heavy for me on the quads. Also the JH16s had a much better soundstage and instrumet separation.

Just returned the quad and V3 demos so I'm patiently waiting for the V6 demos.

At the moment provably V6-S. Or the V8 later this year.

Most probably it'll be around 800 I think. No harm waiting then demoing them

Eh, I'll probably demo the V6s and see how I like them and go from there. I've been trying to avoid "wallet creep" and picking up high end flagships because then I'll need to upgrade my DAP, etc. My search all started with just attempting to replace my TF10s and now I'm looking at flagship CIEMs. :-/

Thanks for your input! I'll probably choose between the 2 V6s ultimately.

I think the V8 will just be a more bassy version of the V-6s--much like how the JH-16 is simply a bassier (is that a word) JH-13. What do you guys think?

Look guys, the v8 obviously will not be like the JH16. Thats what the V6-s is. Why would the v8 be like the v6 but with more bass. Thats what the v6-s is!!

My best guess, and a far more realistic possibility, would be that the v8 would be a completely neutral, ultra revealing, detailed sounding IEM like the UM Miracle or the Etymotic er-4p. Because that is something they don't have in their lineup right now

Another pic...

Still loving the V6's.  No weaknesses that I've found so far.  I'm going to do some back to back comparisons with my HD650's today.  I got some iPhone listening in the past two nights.  The phone drives them quite nicely.

Nope definitely not. I've already gotten confirmation from Vitaliy. There will be significant difference between the lows and sub bass compared to the V6. I'm expecting even more bass than the V6-S.
The V6 was meant to be their reference flagship which is more lined up with UM Miracle and JH13.

1964 Ears will sell you a universal version of the v6 (quad and v3 also available) if you want.  It won't be quite the same but close enough I imagine.  You'll have to email them about it to get the details and an order form for it.

You can get a universal version? It's strange they don't list that on their website.

I got told in an email that they prefer to sell customs, but are prepared to sell universals if requested. Levanter knows more than I do as he actually ordered a set.

That's it, I'm sending them an email now... thanks, bro... the only thing I'm concerned is that the sound quality may suffer while the cost remains high...
