Those who have a U12 (@vtkc is the only one I have in mind, not sure how many there are here), curious, what's the format of the serial number?
From the order status mine says U01217, would that mean 17th unit (I doubt it's 1217 yet)?

Mine is U00164 and received them around the beginning of November. Hope this helps?

Did any one describe A12 from source matching standpoint?

My subjective ratings:
1. LG V10 4.0/10 (too much bass - leaks to other parts of spectrum, it limits details, also - not happy with timbre)
2. Samsung Galaxy S3 (i9300): 5.0/10
3. S3+Oppo HA2: 5.5/10
4. S3+Teac HA 50: 6.0/10
5. S3+Chord Mojo: 7.0/10 (less thump in bass and weaker tone when compared to #2 or #3, I get nice synergy with D5000 but not so much with A12)
6. HM-901: 8.0/10
7. Teac HA-P90SD 8.5 (very energetic paring, good timbre, but soundstage not too wide)
8. DX100: 8.5/10 (wider soundstage compared to #6 and #7)
9. DX100 + Alo Continental V3: 9/10 (improved tone)

I wonder if you agree / how do you find it with LG V10, HTC A9 or Continental Dual Mono and other sources (dacs/amps/phones)?

Update: Teac HA-P90SD and LG V10 added.
Yes, LG it sounds worse than S3 to my hears (especially in timbre aspect). Soundstage is a bit better but low quality of instruments timbre kills it for me.

I was dead set on getting the U12 with the upcoming isolation adel module. Could you elaborate on the difference between this and the active (inflatable) IEMs?

The isolating module is still in its very early stages of development, its a while out. That (like all the passive adels) uses a series of membranes absorbing the pneumatic pressures, rather than your ear drum. The isolating module has more membranes involved in the process, blocking out more of the outside noise than other modules.

The active adel is a membrane itself, hence why its nicknamed the bubble. It delivers the sound in a different way, than traditional in ear monitors, but also absorbs the pressure in the same way the pressure.

The bubble won't be out for a year+ but has a number of applications, which are currently being explored. Yes they're very much the future of things, but its a long ways out and thats a lot of time that could be spent enjoying your music with the current iems with the passive adel, until the bubble comes out.

Thanks guys so I guess it means they've sold over 1200 U12 (or U models, maybe) over the past months, not bad :)

haha yes. it is a great business result, to generate $2.000.000 with just 1200 universal units :D this market grows pretty fast.

Indeed :)
I wonder though if serials iteration are not shared accross U models, it might not be all U12 but still a very good result :)
