For the holidays last year I made everyone in the family a box of homemade chocolates/truffles... all different kinds. One of the types I made was a maple caramel with bacon bits covered in chocolate. It was delicious! I ended up having to give my brother a whole box of just the bacon ones because they were his favorite out of all the ones I made. I think if I were to make it again I would just use smoked salt instead of bacon. It would taste almost the same and you sidestep all the "eww, meat candy" stuff as well as not making it out-of-bounds for vegetarians and people who keep kosher or Halal. Plus it's cheaper and easier.

God doesn't eat bacon. Bacon eats God.
