They went back to Afghanistan to find that girl and photograph her again.
They have no idea what "famous" is, and were a bit freeked out when they were looking for her. They had to ask permission of the family to talk to her.

That's crazy. I wonder if she even knows she's been on the cover of National Geographic.

I remember reading a book about the Vietnam war and seeing that monk self immolating, and the the RATM album cover a couple years later. The title of this thread immediately reminded of it.

I visited his monastery in Hue. They had the car there. It's strange... it's so peaceful there.

I've been to the Hue but never had a chance to visit the monastery, definitely would love to the next time i go back.
