That was a very enjoyable read. The Vietnam War one was very powerful, there's actually a video when the shooting took place. It's quite disturbing actually seeing it though.

Yes I saw that video somewhere a while ago I think on PBS maybe. The interesting thing of course is that the shooter tried to live a normal life immigrating to America and opened a restaurant. I think he was probably a good cook.

EDIT: my bad, didn't read the article fully, it mentions the context of the shooting
IIRC, the man executed was a spy who killed the entire family of a south vietnamese officer. I'm not saying the execution is justified, but that there is a context to the shooting that has been ignored so that it may be used as propaganda.
Interesting read here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nguy%E1...oner_execution

+1

That is one of the most profound images I have seen. The only thing is that it my not be classed as a photo because it was taken from a film... although I may be wrong on that.

I've personally seen some of Ansel Adams pictures on exhibitions and they are truly awesome. The guy is the father (and god) of all landscape pictures.

People have traveled to the exact same locations and still cannot reproduce the exact shot just right.

I agree. With the exception of the last three, I felt the list was a bit too American centric to merit 'changed the world' - it's not that the world doesn't pay attention to US issues, we do, but photos with dramatic effect elsewhere were missed.
