"The FiiO FX17 is priced at just under $1,500, maintaining its reputation as a great budget option among audiophiles."

This hobby is so funny sometimes.
Heh, time marches on. I'm old enough to remember when the Shure SE846 was released and it's "outrageous pricing portends the doom of the audio hobby!!"

High-end prices have always been beyond belief. However, considering that you can spend more than three times as much on in-ear headphones as Fiio is asking for the FX17, including the included accessories, the offer can almost be considered "cheap" in comparison. However, that ultimately depends on how good they actually are in comparison.
Nevertheless, hobbies cost money, often more than their actual value reflects.

At best I'll get FX17 tomorrow, at worst it will be Tuesday, I'm curious to see what Fiio achieves with this release, I hope I can shed some light on the IEM, it's my first completely blind purchase, there isn't a bit of useful information on the net 😅
That's awesome! I was waiting for someone to share some opinion on this iem. Looking forward to your impressions, mate! Btw, please talk about the fit and if they feel heavy in ear after listening them for say, an hour. I'm really curious about the comfort.

I share with you all kinds of sensations, weight, comfort, etc. and of course the sound, my current DAP is the DX340 with AMP16, I have the feeling that Fiio FX17 is a worked product and although I am not sure that it can adapt 100% to my preferences, I thought it was appropriate to give it a chance, I like to try all kinds of brands that offer high-level experiences at, let's say, acceptable prices and FX17 certainly ticks all the boxes :)

@Yefry How long does it take for you to adapt to different materials? Even with a DAP or dongle I know well it can take several weeks for me.
The fact that we have NO info at all from even the type of tuning, V, U, L, ... make us even more attentive to your feedback since you already
dealed with TOTL and dap is more than qualified to push the FX17.

I would say that the work should have been on the EST integration with the rest of the curve since FIIO already succeed with other components in their product line.

Following you so I don't miss your impressions but take your time or do it in 2 times so you can mature your experience with this totally new challenger!

It's an excellent question, I won't make any hasty statements since on first listens I don't usually like almost any IEM, including the excellent Macbeth that I was able to try thanks to the European tour.

The brain needs to adapt to the new sound, find the right adjustment, the appropriate tips etc.

But it's not usually a long process in my case, hopefully, on the second day I'll be quite familiarize myself with the IEM

I'm not really a fan of IEMs either; they're too complicated when it comes to fitting properly or ensuring they fit perfectly in your ears.

Even the smallest mistake immediately negatively impacts the sound, which is why I only use them when I'm out and about with my AK, for example, which doesn't happen very often, because of their portable size.

So it's only logical that I don't want to invest too much money here and would rather save it for good over-ear headphones. The price of my FA19 is already at the limit, but I'm also curious to see if the FX17 could achieve even better results.

I've owned the FX17 for a week now. I've compared it extensively with the VE EXT. The FX17 is in a completely different league. It's incredible what sounds these headphones produce that I've never heard before. The best headphones I've ever owned. Fantastic...

Super nice! :)

I'm looking forward to receiving mine. I'll find out on Tuesday!

How's its bass response?

Does it compete with the EXT in that department?

Thanks!
