I've owned the FX17 for a week now. I've compared it extensively with the VE EXT. The FX17 is in a completely different league. It's incredible what sounds these headphones produce that I've never heard before. The best headphones I've ever owned. Fantastic...
How are the mids, more forward, laidback, balanced? Also curious if they are good for every genre of music or specific ones?
Looking forward to more impressions from you. Thank you!

In my opinion, the bass of the FX17 is much more precise and not as overpowering as the EXT. The sub-bass also extends very deep. I'm curious to see what the tests reveal, which will hopefully be available in the coming days and weeks.

Thanks for your feedback, may I ask what source or DAP you normally use?

Cayin N8ii and currently also a Lotoo GT2.
Oh kinda exceptional hardwares. Are the FX17 sensitive to nutubes mode? not all iems are sensitive to this mode.
But I'm glad from your feedback as N8II produce gentle but present subs. P+ must be something.
No experience from GT2 but it must be a landmark in neutral, N8II is probably a brighter signature?!

The FX17 works flawlessly in the N8ii's tube mode. The N8ii is actually the more neutral DAP. The GT2 has a distinctly dreamy coloration. More bass, more treble, but a bit more restrained in the midrange. Somehow, it conjures something into the signal that is indescribable. You have to hear it to be believed. For classical music, I prefer the N8ii. For everything else, the GT2. Both players are terrific.

What would you says it the best quality of FX17 and its top flaw?
Where did you buy yours please?
I'm gonna check the pricing, if members reviews are positives then ... :)

Agree the cayin signature is dedicated to classical!
Wish I could ear the GT2, replaced with some dongle to have a more bassy (mid bass, not subs) signature.

Thanks for the feedback!

ps: still can not believe that FIIO is not preparing a tour. It's not like you're launching an entry level iem.

Honestly, I can't find any flaws in the FX17. It meets all my expectations. The only thing that might be a concern for some is its size, especially if you're used to the VE EXT. In my opinion, the Cayin is perfect for everything. In Class A, it's perfect for classical music, regardless of whether it's in tube or transistor mode. Class A/B gives it a bit more punch for everything else. The GT2 also has a dedicated Classic Mode. I just discovered it yesterday, and it sounds significantly better for classical music. I bought my FX17 here: https://hifi-passion.de

Based on the descriptions so far, I think it would also be suitable for my AK 3000t. This also has an OP, a hybrid, and a pure tube mode.
It's been listed as available in the official German FiiO shop for about two weeks, although the official sales launch wasn't supposed to begin until April 14th. The price is currently the same everywhere.

So seeing as similar price & 'shiny shiny' look of my Sony IER-Z1R, wonder how it compares. Only Fiio IEM I have is the FD7 and for the price always considered that great, and one I will never sell on.

Seems the DD is a step back from my FD7's full Beryllium diaphragm :grinning: At £1499 AMP3 have it listed in UK it should be full Beryllium!

If there is a European Fiio trial I'd also like to be included on the circulation.

Just checked now, what's going on with FIIO european shop? it's like 300€ more than Hifigo?
Maybe they're not showing Trumps 125% import Duty from China to US in their price
