The OPA's are soldered to a PCB platform. If you want to replace them you either need to get OPA's in a bigger package, or solder them to a platform as well.

The small, surface-mount opamps always require soldering. However in this kit MIU already soldered those for you and put them on a small platform.
Of you want to replace those surface mount opamps with some of the same package, you'd need to solder them to a platform as well. If you don't then they won't fit in the socket.

When you buy the opamps they don't come mounted on a little platform like that. In this case you got them like that because MIU did the soldering for you.
