When I read the manga years back, the farming arc was so long that I ended up putting the series on hold.
On the bright side, if you stopped reading it for 2 years, you missed like 5 chapters. :deadhorse:
The all concept was to see him grow as a fighter and overcome all the crap that other humans could throw at him. Now that we're on the path of "I take my meds and my best bud's a farmer", it's mostly super boring. OMG what a surprise!!!!
Next, "the MC from Claymore comes back, and this time she makes a boat in a bottle", the movie!
And Attack On Titan, "it was all a misunderstand, they just wanted toilets their size".

Violence was the only option!

I've been enjoying the hell out of Angel next door, I immediately jumped into the web novel after finishing the available anime eps and I have to pace myself or else I'll run out of stuff to read. I think with a lot of romance stuff maybe it moves a tad too slow for my liking, but all in all it's a nice casual wholesome series without too much drama.

Sigh...I'm itching for more so maybe I'll try rent a girlfriend next. Yeah don't worry I know it's a bit of a train wreck.

edit after binging 2 seasons: gentlemen....rent a girlfriend is a masterpiece. My disdain for the MC is balanced out by the god-queen Chizuru.

I had to drop both of those, the MC in Next Door (in anime form as of episode 4 or 5) was just way too stoic limp fish boy for me to take seriously. And rent a girlfriend (again in anime form, not helped by the VA performance), again the MC absolutely FREAKING OUT over everything (OMG A GIRL I'VE KNOWN FOR A YEAR TOUCHED MY HAND ON ACCIDENT WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA) just got really really old for me.

These are some top sellers though so they do have an audience and these things that I found grating may very well not even register with others. I'd be interested to hear your perspective of what works so well for you to raise them up to 'masterpiece' grades, specifically Next Door since I'm less familiar with that. I made it half way through season 2 of Rental before I just COULD NOT with the MC anymore lol.

Ahahah yeah I know what you mean. I don't know if I have some kind of inbuilt filter because I've walked through the valley of the shadow of death (20+ years watching anime orz), but tropey stuff doesn't bother me as long as the show itself is somewhat entertaining. I will happily ignore the MC's so I don't need to feel like I need to relate to them or anything.

For these kind of shows I enjoy the (often unrealistic and silly) scenarios and seeing how the girls navigate them. Is it trash tier waifu-bait that's targeted towards a degenerate like myself? 100%. FWIW my favourite TV show is Seinfeld which might explain a great many deal lol. Perhaps it's topical because we live in "content" era from Youtube/Vtubers and my current FOTM seems to be two-faced girls (rental girlfriend mode and to a much lesser extent when Angel drops her act). I dunno maybe I'm just a sentimental anime girl reincarnated into a man knocking on their mid thirties but I like watching tension unravel. Angel next door isn't very entertaining, no doubt about that, but maybe that's why a slow-burner like that can feel more intimate.

Relating back to the music world it's why some of us fall for a doujin/indie singer too right? Yanaginagi's voice will always take me back to my experiences starting out in audio hi-fi through to journeying to see her live in Japan in 2011. I feel the same way about art with the proliferation of AI art making waves recently. I'm firmly in the "cool" bad art > boring but technical art camp. There's something magical about an illustrator that just specialises in say wet tummies or anime feet ahaha.

That's why objectively mediocre shows can still be masterpieces in my eyes, the feelings of the author still reach me. Funnily enough I only get teary/emotional when watching movies/anime or reading manga, but when the content is primarily text based like a VN/LN/game only then do I ever bawl my eyes out. Maybe my imagination doesn't go into overdrive as much when I have images to process ahahahah.

Well you listed a number of key phrases as likes that don't work for me very often so that's probably your secret sauce with these. I tend to prefer shoujo romances like ookami shoujo to kuro ouji or ao haru ride...... or full on harems. The shounen romances tend to be a harder sell for me though there are of course many good exceptions out there. Usually it's the MC's fault if I don't like it, I DO invest in the MC and want to root for them, so if they suck the whole thing kind of falls apart. I'm finding Nagatoro charming and wholesome so I'm enjoying that for a recent example.

I'm about 200 chapters into Domestic Girlfriend what a ride ahahah. Has to be one of my favourites now, it has a banger of an OP too.

It's a nice contrast to other series where they spend a hundred episodes trying to confess and they're stuck in high school forever. Time moves at a reasonable pace in Domestic Girlfriend.

I rescued a waifu (6800XT) from a Cambodian crypto mining operation. USD350 which I think is fair, finally some progression in terms of performance per dollar huh? Coming from a 1070 it's a 150% increase in performance. I don't have a case with a side window so I settled for an MSI and let a friend have this one. (the cooler performs like 10C worse than the typical AIB models, prolly needs a repasting too)

Beautiful card, if I ever go hard out on a PC I'll definitely source something similar in the future. Wonder how badly my 3770K will bottleneck it...oh god it's 10 years old..

I don't want to deal with the heat so I think I'll undervolt/clock aggressively to vaguely match the power draw of my previous card. Should still net a nice ~100% perf increase.

The 3770K is going to hold it back a bit. I went from a 4770K to a 10600k and there was a lot of improvement in just system/windows speeds. The 4770 was still great for web browsing and stuff so most of the time it was "good enough" but you definitely notice the day-to-day difference in a newer CPU.

That card looks cool but the fans seem pretty small, 70mm-ish? If it was mining then a repaste isn't a bad idea probably.

Yeah it's noticeably louder than the MSI, but still usable with a mild undervolt. AMD seems to have pushed the 6800xt pretty hard, I did some quick and dirty testing. I think the 2200mhz mark is the sweet spot for me, 150W is pretty comparable to the old GTX 1070.

I tried looking at a few YouTube videos comparing the 3770k to the newer stuff. Ehhh even a Ryzen 7600 platform upgrade might be 800 dollarydoos for like an ~80% performance uplift (and much better frame times). Since I only have a 4k60 monitor I think I'll pass for now I don't think I game enough for it to be worth it. Day to day I use a m1 Mac mini and it flies, so I won't need to upgrade for that.

I can't run Ryza 2 at 4k 60fps, I have to drop down to 1440p hahaha. Some strange CPU bottlenecking going on there as the GPU only sits at like 50% utilisation, just crappy JRPG port things I guess. I should try Tales of Arise.

edit: apparently the Atelier games were just horribly ported, there's a third party patch (Atelier Sync Fix) that boosts FPS by like 50%, I can run at a solid 60 fps now at 4k with GPU utilisation at 85% so there's still some headroom. Woohoooooo no need to spend money and upgrade, I'm taking this Ivy Bridge system as far as it'll go. I'm happy with a 60 Hz monitor for now...

As it turns out, all GPUs are AIB (Add In Board)

I'm running a Ryzen 7 3700X + 6700 XT now, while we're no longer 3770 buddies, we can be AMD 6000 XT series buddies :D
Ayy, we're i7-3770(K) + 8 GB RAM buddies! Man, can't believe the motherboard was only 62 dollarydoos back then, and spending a similar amount on a system today barely outperforms it.

Speaking of "Oh God it's 10 years old...", my early 2013 15" MacBook Pro pretty much is. So it's prolly time to upgrade to Apple Silicon I guess

Anime looks great on that mini LED screen, and every time I click the battery icon to check the percentage, it's always higher than I think. Crazy

@Eiyuu-ou: it's meh but still good
@Tondemo Skill: Everything's coming up Mukouda
@tenten Kakumei: (weeping) nice
@DanMachi S4 Part 2: any moment now...
@OniMai: Mahiro is quite stylish ngl
@Retire with 80,000 gold or whatever: Mitsuha is putting her foot down, interesting to see where things go

Recently upgraded to a M2 Max 14". It's a fantastic upgrade if you're coming from Intel. Insanely good battery life and barely gets warm with coding. If you go M2 pro instead of max it doesn't even get warm.

That song was stuck in my head for a while. Spotify link.

Lovely waifu GPU. I saw the vid GamersNexus did on that brand. They seem really great and actually keep improving their products every generation. Quite refreshing compared to the usual GAMER-RGB-GUNS look we get in the west.

And those speakers, literally oof. Most of the time I don’t even bother to grab headphones or connect to external speakers.

I have a hand-me-down Ryzen 3600 sitting unused, I don't want to buy a mobo/RAM though (250ish?) it doesn't seeeeem like enough of an upgrade for my use case.

We're still totally not blood related siblings.

Yay for Ryza.
