Jammin’ to this on a set of Pioneer SE-MS7BT that was on clearance at JB


These headphones sound great, but personally I find them to have a poor fit. When worn "naturally", they leave a sizeable gap behind the ear because the ear cups don't swivel, and the ear pads aren't thick enough nor soft enough to form an adequate seal around the ear. Pioneer thought of this and tried to make up for it with the contoured ridge on the ear cup, but unless I wear the headphones such that the front of the pads cover most of my zygomatic arch, they leak sound in and out.

Thanks for the gut shots, always love to see the insides of audio gear. I've mostly sworn off any headphone with that oblong shape all the manufacturers seem to love, they never fit me well.

Spoiler: I bought a second hand AirPort Extreme and saw that it was dusty, so I pulled it apart to clean it out.

Beautiful inside and out. Black heatsinks + fan for cooling, flanged bespoke ports that attach to the exterior shell, and six antennas, somehow.


As expected, Rubycon caps.



I also love the fact that it doesn't have a bulky external wall wart that may or may not block neighboring outlets.

Lots of wet weather here in Sydney, luckily I've escaped the floods impacting other regions but the home isn't without damage. The rain took out our solar inverter (1-2k for a replacement, but it's 10 years old now so it has easily paid for itself), and the garage air con needs a new PCB ($200).

I was browsing FB Marketplace and found a pair of fake LINE Friends edition Beats Solo3! Try to spot the differences from the real thing



I believe the real ones could only be bought from the LINE FRIENDS Flagship Store in NYC; no authorized resellers sell them, online or otherwise: https://www.linefriends.com/beats2017

Spoiler: Clues revealed

1. Beats logo is crooked, slightly too clockwise
2. Due to incorrect graphic scaling, Brown's ears here are visible. They should not be visible
3. Superscript "3" is too far away from "solo" and font weight is slightly overweight
4. Sizer tolerance is way too loose
5. Headband cushion is jutting out at the hinge junction

And of course, if we were to open them up, it's unlikely they'd look like this:

Judging from the cushion imperfections, and, you know, from the pixels. Plus you can see from the video that they indeed aren’t that thick, although cushions can and are commonly replaced due to wear and tear.

In the second image, you can also see the button panel is out of alignment:

When branding is such a core part of the Beats brand, I highly doubt a crooked logo would pass QC

www.working wasn't all that great for me, with an all new cast and a less competent director/writer for the anime it was more boring than funny unfortunately.

I'm 8 episodes in and it's not too bad, though yes the characters are forgettable. Saint Valentine the real MVP
