I quite like my SS Rival. WMOish shape and rather light.

Yeah and I do agree with Charlotte....too many forced things that make it dull by Jun Maeda.... Almost feels like Clannad was his magnum opus...and now he's just trying too many forced measures. (but then again, he isn't left with much room in 12 eps)
It feels like he's trying to cling onto his claim to fame and we're watching him slowly crumble.
Although to give him the benefit of the doubt, his stuff still provides for decent entertainment. I also like the OP by Lia. For some reason it feels like a different style for her?
Also, Saturday seems to be a good day for anime: Charlotte, Durarara, Working, and that show about lustful teens which basically ends up becoming unfulfilling porn.
Just got back from the meet.
Summary:
- Stephen Ambrose from 1964|ADEL is pretty cool to talk to and got to try out a prototype device
- Blue Hawaii from HeadAmp sounds weird and i really don't understand the hype for it, like at all; it's $5.6k mang....
- SR-009 on Blue Hawaii sounds okay at best; nothing spectacular
- SR-007 MKI on BH sounded bad
- Peter at HeadAmp liked my SR-207 on the BH more than the SR-007 MKI, and agreed that it has more bass than either the SR-007 MKI and SR-009
- HE1000 on the new Eddie Current Zana Deux amp sounded pretty good
- Audio Zenith PM-2x sounded pretty good
- Pulse X Infinity gets to 100.6 F (38.11 C) on the side while being powered by the LPS4 and driving the SR-207 and K701 balanced
- Pulse Xfi gets to 94-ish F on the side in comparison while using the RCA line out to another amp
- Too much stuff, only really got to listen to 5 rigs max out of like 40
Binaural video coverage soon to come. Gotta splice the audio/video.
Curious. Have you had the chance to try out a KGSSHV with the 207s?
Deadly's said that he can't tell a damn difference between the 207 driven by the SRM 252 or the KGSSHV so there's that lol. Did you ever sell the 2170 Eve? That's a damned good system, and nigh unbeatable for the money IMO.
R2A/Pro lands on Monday finally. Very happy to finally get shipping confirmation. Been hearing very, very good things from a guy I've been keeping in touch with.
No but I've tried the SR-009 on it, as well as on the Electra, and now the BH. Of the three, I like the BH the most, but I still didn't think much of it really. The upper-mids/treble region of the 009 sounded soft to me, which made them seem more forgiving. Indeed the Innerfidelity measurements show the 009 has a below-target ~5.1-9 kHz region. The 009's presentation of instruments reminds me very much of the HE1000 as well, as does its speed. The SR-207 is still much faster-sounding to me and now I know why people compare the HE1000 to "electrostats" AKA the SR-009.
I was talking to Peter at HeadAmp about the SR-207's speed vs the 009 and he was thinking it was just the frequency response difference. I find the HE1000 to sound pretty darn slow in the lower-mids/upper-bass region and even if I boost that area (20-250 Hz) by 3 dB via EQ for the SR-207 I find it to keep up with music transients much better than the HE1000; so I'm definitely ruling out frequency response for the speed of a headphone.
I sold the 207s, and am currently using the 252s with the 007As.
Not a big fan of the shape and comfort of the Lambda series because of my own ear shape.
And I felt that the 207s were bright >.< , as were the 009s with the BHSE. Loli voices pierce like no other.
Not sure if I'm particularly sensitive to certain frequencies.
Glad to see another toy will be reaching the arsenal soon .

Interesting... I've never heard the 009, but when I talked to James444 about it, he told me that he felt the 207 was the most dynamic and open sounding of the 007/009/207 trio. Seems like that matches up with what you're hearing as well.
It feels like he's trying to cling onto his claim to fame and we're watching him slowly crumble.
SHIMONETA: A Boring World Where the Concept of Dirty Jokes Doesn't Exist is pretty entertaining. It kind of reminds me of SZS poking fun at some parts of society and going to the extremes of it.
Windows Mouse Optical.
