I'm listening to Abnormalize right now... And.... Not really feeling it.

The vocals are overproduced to the point of getting annoying, could hardly heard what TK was singing with all that was going on in the song, mastering is subpar even for a Jrock song, only part I liked was a the riff.


Going back to unravel.

I'm a huge fan of the band, but all of their albums sound like ****, especially I'mperfect. Feeling Your UFO sounded kinda decent though. Japanese rock on a whole, is some terribly, terribly, terribly mastered stuff

  hey guys i always asked myself why so many love bakemonogatari, so i decided to give it a chance again after many years, and then i was happy that i delayed it.
 
it was a good challenge that i feared to waste time on, and i didn't ^^ 
 
 
but now for the biggest anime challenge in my life!! lol yes.... MADOKO!!! what is the deal with it!!! even my friend took the challenge and saw it all,  why is Madoka a big deal?
 
will i like it?  convince me Madoka fans!!! go go go ;3 


oh why madoka now? while watching monogatari second, a good PV appeared at the end of one of the EPs, it was one of these good short PVs that leave you wondering , lol Japanese advertising is so foxy...

Other than what everyone else has said........
If you like Gen Urobuchi stories, i'd say yeah. If you don't like them, maybe not. If you don't know who Gen Urobuchi is, watch the first 3 episodes: He shows his "good" side in ep 3 and on.
(Define "Good" as Gen being Gen.)
 
Yeah, i'm terrible at recommending stuff. I'll just say it's not really anything new if you've seen alot of amine, but it's still one of my favorites.
 

  Madoka is a bit overrated in my opinion. There have been many mahou shoujo series that depict mental torture, but everyone seems to think Madoka came first. Its good, but to me not as good as it's made out to be.

Overrated? Damn right. So much hype for almost nothing truly 'new'.
Still good? Hell yeah. It's in my top 10 stories. (Along with most of The Urobutcher's other works, and Saya at #1 for god knows why reasons)
 

  First one that comes to mind is Black Rock Shooter. You can argue it's not actually mahou shoujo, but it pretty much follows the formula. BRS is worse than Madoka too but I think it's pretty dark and screwed up. I think Mahou Kishi Rayearth got pretty dark and that was from the 90's.
 
Thinking about it... it's more the hundreds of "Madoka took Mahou Shoujo genre and flipped it on it's head"/"Deconstruction of the genre" articles out there that piss me off, because I don't see it as being ground breaking in those ways. Thus it "appears" to be set on some pedestal like it reinvented the wheel... and I don't think it's an accurate assessment.
 
I do like Madoka...I just want to set realistic expectations for Shini

What BRS tried to create was awesome. They failed at bringing it through though. (the 8 ep length was part of the problem)

i Highly suggest you give it a shot, its translated  up till the 2nd chapter but you won't regret playing it, you will understand all what i said about it in the previous pages

  Also watched the first episode of Yuri Kuma Arashi.

The first half was just stupid. The second half was absolutely bizzare.
What the heck.
It's a loooot like Mawaru Penguindrum, but uncomfortably yuri. The yuri-ness is off the damn charts. It's like the Kill la Kill of yuri.
Hoo boy....needs further investigation. I mean, it's by the guy who is responsible for Penguindrum and Utena. Everything could happen.

I didn't know it had anything to do with Penguindrum when I went in, figured out half way through.
but I actually enjoyed Penguindrum despite the same style.

I don't think it was overrated, tbh. Simply because it does everything well. I've watched a few but it just doesn't show it as well as Madoka. BRS has that constantly ominous feel to it that braced yourself for the worse, Taiyou was literally dropping hints everywhere on when and how it would get dark. Madoka? Boom. Ded. Welcome to the series madafaka, cue Kalafina ED.

It has shock value, it had the weird runes that was literally a hidden language, it had moe and ultra-cutesy OP that luls you into a stupor and then Urobutcher kicks you in the head.

Execution is key, concept is second, and for me, no other Magical Series tackling the series does it as well.

Don't watch an anime called "Yuri Kuma". Man, this schiit is is so wrong on so many motherf***** levels yo. I was talking to one of my white friends and he sent me a video only labeled "Yuri Kuma", I said to this dude "What's this schiit?". He just giggled and said "Just watch them and make sure nobody is around when you're watching it!". Then I thought it was some weird porno or some strange schiit but I watched the first minute it's like "yooooooo...... what the screw!"

Dude what? How can you NOT know Paul McCartney? I can understand today's generation not knowing Neil Young (Pono player) or U2 (iTunes Gate), but how can you not know Paul McCartney of the Beatles that everyone still listens to? I'm not sure which movie I saw, but the one that wasn't a recap or whatever? It had absolutely insane animation. I'm curious about the animation budget. It was very impressive and makes stuff like the Rebuild films look like a joke

Hmmm seemed to me pretty much like usual Shaft tricks (slideshow style, rough effects, high contrast patterns, etc), perhaps just a bit higher profile, nothing really special :/

I just got the rifle in today
 
Holy schiit is it heavy as ****. 
 
The biggest problem I have with it now is that I can't do the artillery hold properly. Airguns are different and require you not to hold it locked in place like a real weapon. However the artillery hold requires you to basically...almost act like an artillery mount. Where you have the rifle in hand nearly as if nothing was hooked onto it.
 
This is really ******* heavy.
 
It's got recoil too....a lot more than I expected.
